Virgin WiFi’s network offers a secure service for public access, with 256 Bit SSL encryption to secure your data, verified by THAWTE.
Whether your internet access is wireless or wired, it is essential that you take some basic steps to protect your device:
Install a robust anti-virus software and personal firewall
Use a secure VPN if connecting to a corporate network
Ensure your computer is password protected
Don't leave your device unattended in a public place or lock it if necessary
Be careful not to leave credit card details exposed
Only enter any personal banking details once you know the website is secure (look for the padlock icon on your browser)
Once connected to the Virgin WiFi network, WiFi access can be paid for through the sign-up process using credit/debit cards and PayPal.
Some locations also allow for voucher access (usually available through the WiFi location reception/help desk).
We also allow roaming access on our network.
Yes, our networks allow for a VPN to be set up. If you are unable to get your VPN working, then please contact your personal/corporate IT that provides the VPN access for support.
This will depend on the tariff bought, but all access is measured as a duration, measured from the start of the period purchased e.g. 1 day tariff started at 17:03 will expire at 17:03 the next day.
It is not calculated from accumulated usage online. (The only exception is free access at Premier Inn sites).
You can connect to any Virgin WiFi network just as you would connect to your WiFi at home or work.
Simply follow your device's standard WiFi process by turning on the WiFi radio antenna, selecting the correct network, and then following the on-screen instructions for obtaining free or paid access (depending on location).
Virgin WiFi's Internet Kiosk Service
The majority of our internet kiosks take payment from coins or credit and debit card. Some locations also accept voucher payments, usually available from the location reception or help desk.
If you have entered payment into the internet kiosk, it displays a timer at the bottom of the screen indicating the amount of credit (time) left on the session.
If you require help, and our FAQs don't provide the solution, our customer services is available 24h every day of the year:

Roaming on Virgin WiFi's network
Yes, Virgin WiFi allow roaming by multiple partners. The main partners are Boingo, iPass and Skype WiFi, but we also allow other international partners to have access to our network.
If your device has special roaming client software installed, then this should automatically pick up our WiFi networks, and display a message about connectivity for you. Alternatively you can access the roaming by clicking the relevant roaming partner on the WiFi login page (either by clicking the partner logo, or visiting the roaming section of the service).
